Happy New Year all
We currently do not have full fibre but will do this year. We have BT Halo3 with landline and 2 mobiles.
Our mobile are the old style sim only contract 1gb doubled to 2gb each month for £6.24 each mobile which is called out of contract rolling plan.
One of us wants to give Smarty mobile a go for slightly less cost and more than double the data. Then other person may transfer over the smarty over next few months.
Have any of you got similar situation to us, one changing and one staying. By the way its not the family plan.
Thanks
Hello @Mattiesmomma
One can remain with BT Mobile with the data Booster and one can move providers but you’ll lose your BT Family Sim Package.
Never heard of Smarty so don’t know how good they are but if your out of contract see if BT Mobile Retentions can offer you a better plan.
as not part of family plan then just text PAC to 65075. you should get code and use when registering SMARTY mobile sim
Hi its not a family sim package, they are individual
As both mobiles are on rolling contracts and are individual mobiles (not in a Family SIM plan) there is nothing to stop either or both mobiles being ported out to another network. You have to put seperate porting requests in for each phone so can do them seperately, or at the same time.
Note that if you take a new BT fibre package without Halo 3 you will lose the data doubling on any mobile contracts that remain with BT at that time.
When you contact BT to place a fibre order they may encourage you to move to a new EE contract if you still have BT mobile at that time, but you don't have to accept this.
Smarty is owned and operated by 3.
Why not buy a Smarty Sim Card from (for example) a local supermarket to try it first.
If you like it then request a PAC from BT (using the BT SIM card) and then transfer your number to Smarty, otherwise just bin it and continue on with BT
If you haven't already, check the expected coverage in your area. Three tends to be a bit all or nothing with their coverage in my experience.
