I have just recently been getting warnings that I am exceeding my data allowance. I am not doing anything different and have not been abroad. I want to find out why this is happening. Any advice please? Is it possible that if my home signal reduces for any reason then data roaming system will automatically kick in, hence causing an additional charge? Thanks
On what device/account are you receiving this message? I you are using a mobile device, then you need to make sure it is connected to the WiFi, and that ideally you are using the local WiFi SSID (network name) and not password, not BT or EE roaming WiFi. Also, if you've received this message via SMS, there is a possibility that it is a scam!
If all those are OK it may be a pop up from your phone itself, I get a data warning from my phone when I hit 2MB but I am unlimited, but thats a Samsung thing.
In my old Samsung A3 phone one can go into the Settings, somewhere, I think under 'Connections' and change the limit or switch the warning off altogether if you are on unlimited data using 4G/5G.
