700 minute calling plan charges - Consumer Price Guide

Looking at the BT Consumer Price Guide for Calling packages it mentions

* 700 minutes & Unlimited minutes: UK means calls to Local and National numbers beginning 01, 02, 03 and 05 and calls from Northern Ireland to landlines in the
Republic of Ireland and UK mobile numbers. Calls of longer than an hour starting inside the inclusive call period for your calling plan are charged at 19.82p per minute
with no call set-up fee (17.34p for Line Only discount customers).

The asteric is shown against the 700 minute calling plan.

Elsewhere on the BT site (not the BT Consumer Price Guide) it shows "Get 500 or 700 minutes a month for calls to any UK landline or UK Mobile. You can make calls day or night** and there's no limit on call duration."

Am I reading the BT Consumer Price Guide incorrectly (i.e charges after 1 hour duration) or is the guide informaton incorrect?

Re: 700 minute calling plan charges - Consumer Price Guide

The calling plans were changed and now PAYG or unlimited. There no longer a call limit if 1hr

The BT page which you have is out of date

Re: 700 minute calling plan charges - Consumer Price Guide

My take on that is if ( for arguments sake ) you had already made 680 minutes of inclusive calls in the month on the 700 min plan , then made a call that lasted 30 mins , then 10 of those call minutes are outside the plan and charged at the PAYG pence per minute rate but not liable for the call set up fee .

Once the 700 mins limit is exceeded, any subsequent calls are the same as PAYG plan so a call setup fee and PPM so although there is no limit on the individual call and you made a call that lasts 2 hours but the total  700 mins limit wasn’t exceeded  , then the call length is irrelevant, but the consumer needs to consider how close they are to the 700 mins overall monthly limit

I think your take on it i.e. "if you had already made 680 minutes of inclusive calls in the month on the 700 min plan , then made a call that lasted 30 mins , then 10 of those call minutes are outside the plan and charged at the PAYG pence per minute rate but not liable for the call set up fee ." seems quite a reasonable interpretation.
