Account Manager

Go to solution

Hi,

My elderly parents (84 and 79 years old) who live over 300 miles away are keen for me to discuss their BT account on their behalf. My Father, in particular, says he wouldn’t be able to hold a conversation with BT as he easily gets confused. I don’t have Power of Attorney but is there a way I can manage their BT account on their behalf?

Thanks

You could become an Account Manager on your father's account which would allow you to carry out various tasks and access to his account.

See link and sub links.

Thanks. Does Account Manager allow me to discuss and agree a new package with BT for them? My parents are most certainly not on the right deal for them and they feel stuck without my help.

You should be able to discuss a new package but the account holder is the only one who can agree to changing or cancelling any package so would need to have the account holder present when you want to take out the new package although I have no idea how they would know who does it if you were to sign up for a new/replacement package online.
