Apologies, I suspect this is the wrong board but I went with a best match.
I am trying to change my username to my current email address.
I can set the recovery address to this updated address no bother.
I can change my username to any other email address/domain I have.
However, even after changing the recovery address back to another I own, I cannot set my login address to be my new email address.
I suspect the issue my be that <account>@<something>.email is not recognised as a valid address and the same validation isn't happening to a recovery address? But that may be nonsense.
Anyone advise or help?

I have assumed that you are referring to your BTID when you say you want to change your username?

However, the problem is that I can change the BT ID address to any other I own at <domain A> easily but not to an address at <domain b>. I can't save that change. I can use an address at <domain B> as the recovery address without issue.
any_username@xxxxxx.com is fine for the BT ID.
any_username@xxxxxx.email is not accepted for the BT ID.
any_username@xxxxxx.email is fine for the recovery address.
