Am I paying twice for a 'Pay as You Go' Landline on my new contract?

Go to solution

I recently renewed my contract with BT. I previously held Fibre 2 and a landline on a Pay as You Go basis. When I renewed my contract, it wasn't very clear if selecting 'keep the same' would ensure my landline was retained so I also opted for the £3 a month extra 'Pay as You Go' option to ensure I kept my landline.

I didn't receive a confirmation email but I've eventually received written confirmation of my new contract as per the attached images and it strikes me that I'm effectively paying twice for the 'Pay as You Go' landline as 'Pay as You Go' is mentioned on my Digital Voice landline contract and again as a separate add on.

Can anyone confirm that I'm effectively paying twice to have Pay as You Go on the landline?

Should I contact BT to remove the Pay as You Go £3 a month add on?

Just to confirm, I wish to retain my landline but if 'Pay as You Go' is included on my Digital Voice Home phone, surely there's no need for me to pay for 'Pay as You Go' again as an add on.

Greatly appreciate if anyone with the same set-up can advise me on this.

Many thanks in advance.

You have purchased a broadband package (no ability to make/receive calls) and added PAYG phone allowing you to make/receive calls. The complete broadband and phone cost £29.99

So you are not paying twice for PAYG
