BT TO EE UPGRADE

Go to solution

Now we can see online what our options are for moving over to EE, i think they think we are stupid, i have worked it out i will be paying around £23 a month more, the broadband price goes up by £3 by doing nothing, you have to pay for Norton extra a £5 a month, you can choose to add either wifi 6 or 7 router, £7 and £10 a month extra and i have big sport that goes up £13 to £48 a month, has anyone looked into there upgrade yet, not forgetting we lost BT CLOUD...

Yup, if you go for their packages it's eye watering, though I think the £7 that you mentioned if for the WiFi extender not for a WiFi 6 router.  Personally, we don't watch enough TV to make any of these packages worthwhile, and we'll run through the different offers from the streaming suppliers sequentially.  But I'll almost certainly be switching to a cheaper provider when my contract expires!

Re: BT TO EE UPGRADE

My BT account has a new option, encouraging me to switch to EE (which I don’t have a problem with) however, EE costs a bit more than I’m paying for the same services on BT.

I notice they no longer offer a second ‘free’ EE TV Box, which may have been an incentive, but I’d be mad to switch to EE right now.

In fairness to them it may be worth it in future when my current 12 months reduced price EE sim only deal ends as I see you can get pretty good reduced prices if you have ‘EE One’, which offers reductions if you bundle broadband and mobile.

I’m staying put!

…………………………………………………………………………………………….………………………………………………..….…….…. My Services - Full Fibre 100, Smart Hub 2, EE Smart WiFi, Digital Voice with Alexa Phone, BT TV Box Pro, EE All Rounder Sim Only

I was just interested in getting the wifi 6 router but not at that extra cost, it would be cheaper to buy a third party one, thanks for replying.

Re: BT TO EE UPGRADE

I went to the EE/BT shop yesterday as I’m looking at getting a couple of SIMs at a discount.

The EE guy in the shop said I’d have to move my broadband from BT to EE to get the SIM deals I wanted.  He said not to worry as EE will probably be cheaper than BT but won’t be more expensive.  I told him what I was paying BT for broadband and he said it was cheaper than EE could offer!

How are BT expecting to encourage customers to move to EE when it’s more expensive?
