Unfortunately, I have jsut left BT. I wanted a VOIP service that didn't tie me to using BT's SH2 router and being at home in order to make/receive calls.
I've returned the SH2. I had a no subscription (free - PAYG) TV package. I've had it a long time. I've just received an email asking for the return of the "TV Recordable Box". There is no charge mentioned if it isn't returned - unlike the return request for the SH2.
I understood, that BT changed their T&C on 13 Dec 2019, and after that point, equipment supplied was on a loan basis.
Looking back through emails I have an email dated 8 March 2019 saying my TV Set-top box is on its way. I think this was a replacement because the previous device stopped working. AFAIK it hasn't been replaced since 08 March 2019. It is a bit slow these days. We stream most contents through the new TV or Firestick.
Given the dates, I don't think I need to return the TV box. Can this be confirmed?
Perhaps I need to explain to BT why I don't think I need to return the TV Box? A strange circumstance. I don't want unpaid invoices / debt collectors involved.

No it's yours to keep.
Anything after December 2019 had to be returned
As has been stated you do not need to return the item due to when you received it and as has been pointed out there is no charge for not returning it.
BT offer to take back electrical equipment that is no longer needed.
