BT saying that I haven't returned equipment

Go to solution

Hello I returned my router straight away in BTS self return bag, this was going back weeks ago,

BT are constantly annoying me saying I haven't returned it.

I use the post office daily and have 100s of receipts, if I look through them how will I be able to find which was the BT one? What's the actual address that it goes back to?

Also BT send you a pre paid envelope, so how do I see what the tracking number is? Surely that information should be visable to me?

Thanks

According to a  google AI search there are a couple of addresses in common use

AI Overview

The return address for BT equipment is: BT Returns, Scottish Distribution Centre, SDC, XX50 5NN. You can also use the address: BT Returns, Yorkshire Distribution Centre, YDC, XX10 1BT, as some users have reported receiving labels with this address.

There are many reasons why this may have not been processed in by BT - this is why when we return things to keep a hold of the tracking details so they can be provided if something goes wrong - for instance I recently returned a mini hub and it was lost by royal mail but wasn't an issue as I had my receipt.  Its your responsibility to be organised with your information - BT cannot control that

I do have the tracking!

Its the fact that BT are lying to try and get more money from people. Good riddance

It's absolutely clear from reading this quite literally, pointless thread, that had the OP simply typed in 'return equipment' within the search box, they would have found numerous almost identical threads posted by others. This entire forum is full of repeat threads of the same subjects and it's clear that it could be moderated much better and many of the threads could simply be merged or deleted completely.

To reiterate to those that appear unable to understand, you may well have got your proof of posting, but it's YOUR responsibilty to keep it safe for reference later. Getting upset with others because you've lost it or couldn't be bothered to keep it or just simply mislaid it, is not the fault of those giving well intentioned advice. BT undoubtedly get hundreds of returns of equipment a month. The process takes time, it took 3 weeks to process my return but it was done, no dramas.

They are both reasonable requests.

The poster should not be subjected to critical posts for enquiring.Yes there are other posts on the community relating to returning equipment. You should  appreciate that BT/EE webpages  point people to the community to ask for asassistance . When new users come here we should look to assist.

For future refeence for others returning kit - the tracking number is pre-printed on the label you receive with the bag to return the kit.

Keep a photo of that label and also the post office will give you a receipt with it on.
