I just got my latest bill from BT for broadband. £53 a month.
I don't actually use the landline for making calls and the BB is unlimited.
The handset isn't even plugged in because all I get from it when it is is spam calls.
Thing is I am looking at BT deals on their website that seem to be same terms but £20 a month cheaper.
That's practically my car insurance payment so it's not an insignificant amount of money.
I have been with BT for all my life. I am 70 now and money is tight. Pensioner obviously.
I don't particularly want to leave BT and go elsewhere. I don't really want the hassle.
But is that what I have to d to get a better deal? Find a new provider?

Ring 0800 800 150, speak with the 'Loyalty' team and ask for an account review, explain you've seen deals online that are cheaper, if you're not using the landline for calls you can remove the voice element and save money by not having a chargeable calling plan but this will remove any option for outbound calls including 999 and no inbound, as you said you don't have a phone plugged in then it won't impact you.
Assuming that you're out of contract, you can call 150 & select the option for leaving BT & see what they offer. It's a lottery though depending on who answers the phone. Sometimes the only way to get a deal is to place an order with another supplier, but that's not guaranteed.
Switching shouldn't be a hassle & thousands do it without issue but there's always a chance something will go wrong.
Just a thought but if you're in receipt of benefits you may qualify for Home Essentials, which has a reduced price.
