Thanks for replying. Now the choice is spending several hours in the call centre queue or several hours going round in circles while the Chat AI misunderstands what I want to do and is quite sure I must want to start an additional subscription. I wonder why the frequently asked questions claims cancellation can be done on-line.
I too have this issue. Via the web site you can only upgrade. Last time I spoke to someone they claimed I had a long term contract and had to wait then I forget. The price has stealthily crept up to a crazy amount, not surprised they make it as hard as possible to cancel. I really hate phoning and find it most stressful.
Be very careful if you phone up to cancel it as I did that recently and got switched from BT to EE on a new 24month contract without that ever being mentioned or agreed to. If that happens to anyone then it's also impossible to get it revoked with there being no way back to BT.
@TimCurtis Thanks very much for the advice and I am pleased to report a satisfactory outcome. I first tried by phone which had wait times between 30-45 minutes, almost as bad as Oasis tickets :).
I then found the chat button and much to my surprise after 15 minutes, mostly security, and acting just on my one line of "I wish to stop TNT Sport please", my TNT account is no more "Let me help you to cease your TNT sports today :)". No selling or other questions so a result for me. and almost a pleasure.
It seems the AI has learnt a lot in the last three months. Perhaps it has been monitoring this thread and resolved to do better 😁
