We've ordered the 500Mb + Digital Voice which will be installed on the 27th October.
Is it too late to change it to 900Mb +Digital Voice?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Not wishing to be rude, but from your previous posts, I very much suspect you will not get anywhere near saturating 500M let alone 900M.
Why not run with 500M and then upgrade to 900M later if needs be.
Lol, you're not being rude as I don't really need 500 Mb, but the house does have 80 smart devices & 17 CCTV cameras with cloud-based storage & sometimes there's a long lag in the footage upload after the motion alert comes through.
But apart from that I'm a self-confessed technology geek, even if I am 79, & my honest reason for upgrading to 900 Mb is the same reason that people who climb Mt Everest give when asked why, "because it's there".
And 900 Mb full fibre is here. 😁
Anyway I've spoken to customer services who have advised me to let the 500 Mb install take place & then, after 24 hours, upgrade to 900 Mb, so that's what I'll do.
@caravanj Enjoy 😀
Thanks, I'll certainly do my very best to enjoy it.👍
Well the Mt Everest 'because it's there' logic has kicked in & I've just upgraded to 900 Mbps & apparently I also get a WiFi disc which I can play around with & see what coverage it gives us.
The customer services guy tried to swap us over to EE but it wasn't possible at this time.
17 CCTV cameras in or around a domestic home? That sounds a bit Orwellian! There are a lot of smarts here, but many run on 433/866MHz - though one of the hubs is trying to be a Thread Boarder Router but that still only means a single WiFi connection back to the router.
They're not Orwellians, they're a combination of cheap & cheerful Blink & Tapo cameras. 😁
