Difference in broadband bills

I manage 2 accounts - my elderly father’s and my own. My broadband package is Halo 3+, his is Halo 3 plus extended wifi. What is the difference? I use my broadband a lot, he uses his occasionally (at 89) but he pays £10 /month more for the privilege. Our contracts are renewed within 2 months of each other every 2 years and we have been customers for years. Why the difference? Call handlers cannot answer the question!

Re: Difference in broadband bills

Surely you are already in the best position to judge what the difference is , you state the packages although similar are not identical, if you quote the itemised price for each element of the package you obviously can see where the price differences are …..it’s long since been the case that two customers with the same or similar packages can pay different amounts depending on the negotiations at the time the contract was taken  ….lastly the degree to which someone makes use of their service has not been a factor in the price , it’s not a sliding scale.

Slower speed profiles generally are cheaper but it’s not necessarily the case that taking a lower speed profile that is cheaper would be appropriate even for occasional users, depends on what that occasional use actually is …however if your father is on a speed profile that is unnecessarily ‘fast’ for his purposes, a few ££ may be saved by reducing the speed at the next renewal.
