Hi, I recently bought some music software which was a 39GB download. Until now, I’ve been able to download most files without a problem, most of which were about 5-10GB. For some reason, downloading this particular file, I get to around the 30gb and it stops, which obviously results in a failed download.
I’ve tried different browsers, different computers, but always the same failed download around the same 30gb mark. My question is, is there a limit on the size of the file you can download?
I have the BT fibre 2 package
kind regards
Nope. There are no limits at all. So if you're hitting a barrier, it's probably being caused by something on your PC
If it was me, I would contact the website and let them know there is an issue with their download.
Have you tried downloading a large file from a different source.
There are sites on the Internet that offer large files in order to test.
Before using any of the sites make sure that they are reputable sites.
Do you have any scheduled tasks running on your PC(s).
e.g. does an antivirus software do scans after a preset period of time? ......This can cause a load on the processor. You can disable auto scans on Norton, for example.
Also does your PC time out on a set period of what it thinks is inactivity?
A clue to the problem is to check the timing where the download seems to stall.
