End of contract moving home

Hello,

Advice please. My BT Broadband contract is ending in 16 days time. I am moving home in possibly October, I am moving in with my elderly mother who already has BT broadband.,I have Power Of Attorney for her account.

What should I do with regards to my contract and what will happen if I don't renew? Also do I have to cancel my account once I know my moving date and can I keep my email address.

Thanks

Re: End of contract moving home

Do not renew your contract as you will be hit with early termination charges when you cancel. Your contract will simply become a rolling 30 day contract once your fixed term ends.

You will need to give BT 30 days notice of cancellation when you know your moving date.

Your email address will simply continue as Basic Mail once you leave BT. Basic Mail is only accessible as webmail via a browser and cannot be used with an app or client.

If you wish to retain your address as Standard Mail, simply associate it with your mother's BT account

Re: End of contract moving home

You could always cancel your broadband after your Fixed Term Contract is over when you move to your mother's house then wait until her Fixed Term Contract is finished and cancel that and assuming you want to stay with BT you could then sign up as a new customer at her address and be eligible for any discounts or Rewards cards as a new customer.

You could also move to another Broadband provider and get their "bonuses" as a new customer.
