I recently discovered an old BT account, from 14 years ago, is still attached to my file. I cannot find a contact or a way for it to be deleted. According to the credit report, it's still generating zero balance invoices. How do I delete it?

@se181ju Call BT Billing and ask them to remove the account:
0330 1234 150
Thx. Unfortunately, I can't call them because I'm not in the country. I need to do it by email or online.
@se181ju BT have a call from abroad number:
+44 150 174 7714
Thx. Unfortunately, calling from where I am is not doable. There must be an online no-call solution in 2026.
Any ideas?
@se181ju Well you cannot email them and if the account has been on your credit file for 14 years, there's clearly no rush to get it removed at the moment, so wait until you return to the UK. Unless of course you no longer live in the UK and live abroad permanently, then you'll eventually probably have to find a way of calling BT via a phone line. There must be landlines where you are if you are that concerned. I appreciate the answer comes across as abrupt, but it's called helping yourself.
Yes it was abrupt.
I am in Russia, so calling is blocked. I won't be back until next summer. I only found out about it in the last couple of days.
I could respond by saying that I am incredulous that telephoning is the only option. But I appreciate you taking the time to answer.
Thx.
Thx. I'm in the queue. I'll send feedback with an update.
That was amazing help.
Apart from sitting in the chat queue the support was faultless. It's sorted and the account has now been closed.
I'd been going round in circles for days.
So thx.
