Update I wanna cry 😭😭😭😭
Management agency have said (emailed mum) I need to contact openreach/city fibre to get FTTP installed as it not a communal matter! But when I contacted them they told me! Need permission from management agency! First
so really not happy!
what I do now?? Any ideas
Afraid all you can do is enquire if Openreach have any plans and as this is a leasehold property get the land owner to express their willingness to approve a wayleave
Openreach Enquiry form: https://www.openreach.com/forms/fibre-broadband-availability---customer-form
Openreach wayleave agreement expression form: https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/obtaining-wayleaves
Afraid for CityFibre you'll need to do your own research for similar forms (as this forum is for the ISP BT who don't use CityFibre but rather Openreach)
I have contacted openreach via the forums on their website! Waiting for reply! (BT said I should be connected with the next few months)
will contact management agency again as think mum didn’t word email properly! But as I say they keep saying I gotta contact them my self!
Management agency aren’t refusing it just telling l gotta sort it myself!
Update yay 🥳
With regards to; Flats 2-98 (evens) Provan Court, Ipswich, IP3 8GG
I will put this site in our reactive build queue and the residents will be notified when they can place an FTTP order,
Upon receipt of an order we will connect them.
This usually takes 6 to 8 weeks.
I would suggest that you call them again in a few weeks’ time to see if they can install the service for you.
Dose this mean I will be connect soon could it be ages away??
Is this a response from Openreach forward to you by your buildings management company?
Yess
Management agency contacted Openreach this week to approve FTTP and that was Openreach response to Joanne at EWS who then forwarded the response to me today!
Dose this mean I will connected soon? Or could it be ages away?
Unfortunately it's hard to give a timeline it could be a couple of months to a year(s) as issues and blockers may cause delays.
Keep an eye out for installation works and then you'll know that things have started to progress.
As far as I am aware
Management agency has given authorisation for Openreach to install FTTP/connect the flats! (This week they contacted them)
Now it’s up to them (Openreach)! to plan the works & connect the flats!
The building has FTTP cables going to it, most likely a connection box some where! It just not connected to the flats!
Hopefully soon!
But who knows
The odd house numbers on the ‘court’ ( that are SDU , not Multiple Dwelling Units , MDU ) can already order FTTP so chances are the splitter node exists and an IJ intermediate joint or several , one for each ‘block’ have been provided in advance for the MDU’s , so there ate already fibres ‘lit’ and ready for use , that’s the good news , the potential bad news is it’s impossible for anyone on here to have any clue as to how long before FTTP is available to order in these MDU , it’s good that the building management have presumably consented to the work required , what’s not known is how quickly ( or slowly ) OR can get around to ‘block wiring’ these MDU , how much work is required, and how long that will take , as it’s a quite modern development there probably will be risers between floors , false ceilings with cable containment ( cable trays ) etc , so hopefully not too tricky to do.
MDU are a great candidate for handing out to contract on a turn key basis , in other words hand the entire build over to a contract firm , who advise when they have completed the build , but it could be Openreach direct labour , as stated the best evidence of something happening will be with your own eyes, if you see work taking place to cable the MDU’s , leaving a CSP/ connector block outside each individual unit , you know it can’t too be far off before you can order.
Thank you 🤩
so all the houses (freehold) have been connected to the FTTP network!
all the flats/apartments (lease hold) the buildings have been connected to the FTTP Network! Via splitter node! But each individual flats haven’t yet been connected!
so hopefully it will be soon that we are connected!
Management agency are happy for it to go ahead
