Genuinely confused over BT and EE

I’m sure the info is around somewhere but I find myself genuinely confused over the relationship between BT and EE.

I’ve been a BT customer for years and moved my mobile to them a few years ago. My phone shows BT even though it’s really EE. My contract is with BT but I have Hybrid Connect which is EE.

For a while every time I logged in to BT I was being encouraged to switch to EE broadband. I never did as the price initially looked good but once I’d added everything I wanted back it was about the same price. That ‘switch to EE broadband’ seems to have stopped now.

The ‘call us to switch to EE Mobile’ also seems to have stopped. So is BT no longer encouraging a move to EE?

The whole thing just feels very messy. And somewhere along the line I feel like I’m missing out on better hardware that EE is giving out even though they’re effectively the same company. BT persists with SH2 while EE gives out a much better router.

I’m sure there are operational reasons for all this. It just feels overly confusing to have the two companies acting separately when it suits but having combined services. The Openreach issue is clear. BT/EE (to me at least) not so much.

Hi @andymerrett2

I can see you got some handy answers about this on one of your other threads.
