My grandmother has a BT landline and wants to upgrade to get broadband installed, while keeping the phone line intact. I was looking at the 'broadband and phone' packages on the website but none of them mention anything about how many minutes they include for the phone.
She is on the Unlimited minutes phone package and wants to keep that, and get either the Full fibre 2 or Full Fibre 100 broadband installed. How many minutes are included with these deals and why doesn't it say on the site?
Many many thanks! 🙂
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can get broadband only packages which doesn't come with a voice service and you can get packages with voice service added.
Make sure you toggle to have a phone service when looking on the BT broadband packages
If you get broadband you then add a call package of your choosing to it, so she could add on the unlimited call package or any other phone package.
See link for the phone packages
To add default voice service is pay as you go. You can add extras on top of that before checking out to increase to a 700 inclusive minute package or unlimited.
Best check how many minutes get used over the last few months to work out if say the 700 minute extra will be suffice
Broadband oackages no longer include calls. Calls are an add on

If you get Broadband and Phone you ADD the call package of your choosing to it. It does not come with a call package.
So would she need to take out a totally new phone contract? Would she still be able to keep the same number? It's very important that she keeps the number.
She is in effect just adding broadband. She would keep the same number. BT would be using the same line to deliver the broadband.
She would not be taking out a new phone contract, she would be taking out a Broadband contract that includes a phone package.
Yes her current phone contract would need to be moved to a new one with whatever call add ons you've selected be that pay as you go, 700 or unlimited.
Also to note this would also be via BT Digital Voice and as for keeping same number this is most likely the case but in some rare occasions it may not be possible.
@gg30340 moving the phone service would be a regrade to the current phone add ons on top of broadband package. So would be a new contract
