I have a Halo 3+ contract (ends April 2024). Download speeds are within promised speeds, upload is not (promise 1Mb only getting 0.2Mb) Three engineer visits have not resolved the problem so I wish to cancel my contract early How do I do this?
Upload speeds are not guaranteed, especially if you are on ADSL or VDSL. On VDSL poor high frequency performance of your line, or internal wiring, will have a detrimental effect.
Use the address checker on the page below, and post the results, but edit out your address details first.

I attach details of my contract which appears to guarantee 1.0 Mbps upload speed. However I still want to cancel my contract.
What do the broadband checker details show?
As you probably know, this is just a customer to customer forum. If you want to cancel your contract you would have to ring BT. Bear in mind you would have to pay cancellation charges.
Unless you can find another provider that does not use the Openreach network, then you are going to get the same speed, as it would be the same pair of wires.
I doubt you are going to get a faster upload speed as you must be too far from the cabinet.
what you posted shows a guaranteed down speed of 14mb (to your router not download speed to device) but it does not say any guarantee on up speed
I'm looking to go with a mobile router - which will give me Internet over my mobile network. BT sent me an EE Mini Hub whilst they were trying to sort out my problem. This gives my around 35 Mb Download and 10 Mb Upload - substantially better than my BT performance.
The broadband checker told me my telephone number was unrecognised - even though we have had it for years and years.......
Use the address checker option.
have you been moved to digital voice? if so that is why number not recognised. as @Keith_Beddoe says use address
I’m a Halo customer having had the same fault. BT refused to supply me with a Mini Hub and turn on unlimited data on my BT Mobile due to having a non qualifying fault. Seems it’s one rule for one and not the other.
Keep pestering, I got my upload speed fixed eventually.
This is what the address checker came up with. I've no idea what it means......
