Just set up fibre broadband over the phone and on my BT account my phone number is correct but on the ‘track my order’ and ‘engineer information’ it has been entered wrong. It should be 079 but it’s been entered as 078 and now I’m worried in case the engineer won’t be able to contact me!

Try calling 0330 1234 150, they should be able amend the contact details.

your phone number isn’t required for the engineer to install your services it just allows you to receive an ETA from the engineer.
the engineer will still arrive on the agreed time and date.
you can update this contact number by contacting BT Home Connections on 0330 1234 150, who will be able to update the mobile phone number if you wish it to be corrected.
