Re: Landline charge if changing to Full Fibre

Basic voicemail and call protect are free but the  premium version is paid for. You can revert to Basic in MyBT (if it ever works).

Did you have a paid for voicemail/call protect when on PSTN , so before you moved to Digital Voice ? , looking at some similar posts the free version of these services on DV is very similar to the old paid for version when on PSTN , so continuing to pay for these when on DV when it offers little more than the free version is in my opinion unnecessary, but if you don’t proactively cancel you continue to pay for the slightly enhanced version when on DV, so basically if you paid when on PSTN you continue to pay on DV for the premium version even though there is a pretty decent basic free version included with DV.

You may well find the basic free version on DV will do everything you need from a voicemail service and in my opinion the cost of the paid for premium service on DV seems disproportionate given the relatively small upgrade compared to the free version (there wasn’t really a free version on PSTN ) .

I would cancel the paid for version ASAP , if the free version meets your requirements as £50+ a year for the enhanced voicemail /call protect seems unjustifiably expensive.

Thanks Licquorice and iniltous.

Will try to get ‘Voicemail with Call Protect’ cancelled.   But I suspect it's part of my24 month contract so cancelling may not be straightforward.  The free service would be more than adequate.

At least the original mystery (the so-called 'Landline' charge of £7.55) is now solved!
