Lately I find I cannot log into My BT either via the Android app on my phone or via BT.com on my PC. I use BT webmail and can log onto that ok. I have always had the same username (which is my BT internet email address) and password for webmail and MyBT.
Now, when I try to log into My BT I get "username or password incorrect”. I have tried deleting the BT app on my phone and reinstalling but to no avail. I did recently change my email password as BT messaged me to say that they had detected a suspicious attempt to access my email. That password change was straightforward and when prompted by Google, I accepted the new password as the stored one for BT.
As I say, I have always used the same credentials for BT email and MyBT.
I know I could use the ”forgot password" function on the My BT log in pages but I'm reluctant to do that in case it messes up my email log in.
I have read in these forums that there does seem to have been a problem with many users log ins so I'm wondering if this is my issue too? If so do we know when there will be a fix?
I went a long time having to deal with multiple 2FA log ins when using my email on my Android phone but these have stopped now.
I'm also wondering whether the passwords for email and MyBT are distinct in the BT system and the Google stored new password is only good for email and not MyBT which was NOT changed when I went through that process with my email password recently

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the answer here. I have now successfully reset my MyBT password and I have made this a different one from webmail. All seems to be ok now and I can access my bills and accounts via the app.
