Managing someone else's account

Hi, my mum is 93 and has memory issues. She wants me to manage her account for her but I can't get BT to allow this. The main problem is getting past security questions, mum has never used email so as far as I know does not have an email account, she can't remember any other questions they may ask. Has anyone else needed to do this? What happens when a person passes on and you need to close the account?

Re: Managing someone else's account

If you have Power of Attorney you can visit www.bt.com/poa - This would be the best solution.

You can make some changes as a 3rd party agent, you would be asked questions for security, you could also ask for a password to be setup, then have the reminder sent by post to the account holder, that will help your mam pass security and then you can speak on her behalf.

BT do this to protect your mam rather than to be awkward, I know it can be a pain.
