I was due an OpenReach appointment today to upgrade to fibre. Was supposed to be 08:00-13:00, didnt receive any call so assumed it had been cancelled only for them to show up at 18:30 which was totally incovenient. Obviously it is impossible for me to contact OpenReach directly but I cant re-scedule as the BT website is telling me it has been installed. For a communications company, they really dont communicate well. Anyway, what am I supposed to do? Been hanging on a call for 30mins so far.

I can understand your frustration at the engineer turning up so late.
Did they say that you needed to rearrange the appointment?
Did you manage to speak to anyone last night?

They said I could re-schedule. BT told me I have to wait 24-48h to be able to do so and OperReach (who did repsond on X to be fair) said it was BTs responsibility to open it for re-booking. Just have to wait I guess. Very frustrating as it had been booked for weeks and I had cleared the decks to be available.
I totally understand where you are coming from @DerekDavies, I've recently moved providers myself and had to move things around to make sure I could get a time where I'd be free.
Please keep me updated on how it goes over the next couple of days.
