Agreed, but it was worth 5 minutes of my own time just to prove a point.

Many of the folks that come here I suspect never bother to read any threads anyway. A lot just blindly post a brand new thread because quite simply, they can. Many could also get an almost instant answer from a simple Google search, but that’s too easy. I accept some answers aren’t necessarily easily available from a forum search and that’s probably why people can’t be bothered to look for themselves, but that says more about the way the forum is designed.

I appreciate the comment in the other thread by @zulu17 about there being people in the background keeping an eye out for issues, but the stark reality is, there’s little involvement from Moderators anyway. Some forum members are more than aware of that, they spend enough time on the EE forum, it’s exactly the same there. This is why I’ve said before, I genuinely don’t understand BT/EE’s logic in running two separate forums for essentially customers of the same company. Someone is paying for the operation of both forums and the multi-tasking of the same Moderators between both. But there it is, a truly strange setup.
