New Customer Price Match on Renewal?

I'm a few weeks out from the end of my contract, and the best renewal price BT have offered is £34.99/month. Sadly a family member passed away before Christmas, and we're periodically checking in on their house until it is sold. Today we found a mailshot from BT, addressed to the occupier, advertising fibre broadband. In it was listed the same package we're on for £30.99/month.

If I phoned up, is there any chance of them price matching that new customer price on renewal, or is it more likely to be a case of take what we've already offered or go somewhere else?

In other words, has anyone had any luck getting a new customer price match on renewal, or would I just be wasting my time?

You can try phoning options team 0800800030 and see what you can negotiate and mention the offer but ensure that is same as your package. It may be that the offer is broadband only and your current package includes the use of your landline to make and receive calls

I'll check to see if the offer includes a phone line or not, as that is something we need.
