How long is it before one becomes a "new" customer to qualify for the deals available to new customers. It seems that "old" customers are subsidising these new ones. It does seem that there are better deals out there but having been with BT for a long time, I am reluctant to change. It may be worth dumping BT for a few days to secure a better price in these hard times!
Maybe you could try signing up to a new provider offering a better deal. BT customer retention might then contact you, to recognise your valued long term custom and find a competitive deal for you. If they do, take it and cancel the new sign up within the cooling off window. If you are not contacted, you gain the better deal. Beware though, the new better deals often have time limits or poor customer services.
Not this rubbish again. Fact is at renewal BT have agreed to offer the best available price to everyone so it's as simple as signing up for it at renewal!
BT are not allowed by Ofcom rules , to target customers that have already started the switching process , basically they cannot wait for notification that a customer is leaving and then contact them with a ‘killer deal’ to dissuade them from leaving , so unless the OP is committed to changing provider it’s not a good idea to start the process in the expectation of getting a better deal …. this may well be unique to BT ( in other words Ofcom don’t apply the same rules to others just BT ) but it’s clear with Virgin ( as an example ) they often do exactly that , contact customers that have served notice and offer a deal to reconsider.
Thanks.
Not same old rubbish! Fact is that BT will, for the same product, charge one price for an existing customer and a lesser price for a new customer which hardly rewards loyalty. This is WRONG by my thinking.
