Open order preventing me (or my Dad) joining BT

Go to solution

Hello

My dad (who I have LPA for and can act on his behalf) is on a Vodaphone PSTN service.  Vodaphone contacted him last year and arranged to change to Full fibre as part of technology upgrade.  We called them to understand what was happening and ended up agreeing to a cheaper upgrade under a contract.

Unfortunately when citi-fibre turned up, the street equipment was in the wrong place and they would not reinstate the drive way they would need to dig up so we sent them away. There was no further contact from Vodaphone and so we left it.

Vodaphone have now contacted us again about the technology upgrade and we have no desire to go around the same circle again and so we are off to BT and the Openreach network.  HOWEVER....

We can't place the order with BT.  I have tried once on line and got a error message stating that their is an open order which has already expired and if the date is expired to connections "Connections to follow the BAU stuck order process".

Not able to find this I tried to arrange on line but the operator ran into the same problem.  They escalated but ended up telling me to go back to Vodaphone and look for "open" or "hidden" orders.

Now spent an hour with Vodaphone who are insisting their are no open order, hidden or otherwise.

I now have parents over 80 years of age who can't move their service and are stuck on an expensive PSTN service they can't move away from.

Please help.

Hi @KevinWalker.

Thanks for coming to the community.

I’m really sorry you’ve had a difficult time trying to get this sorted.

The message you’re seeing usually means there’s an old order still showing on the Openreach system, which can block a new BT order from being placed.

Please give our broadband team a call so they can take a closer look at what’s causing the block and help get it resolved. Once that’s cleared, you should be able to place a new order as normal.

Please keep us updated on how you get on.

Debbie
