Ordi request

Go to solution

Hello, I moved house back in november, to a new build and my old BT package followed with me. I am now trying to upgrade to fibre (as I had copper before)   but the bt site says maximum number of tries to find address when I try to order.

I messaged open reach who advised me I do have full fibre access at my new address and to raise an ORDI request with BT.  How would I go about this?

When you say new build , presumably you mean  a modern ish house that has  copper pair infrastructure (  that’s what you currently have your service over  ) but FTTP is now apparently available ( as a retro fitted network and is effectively ready for orders and is outside your address ) but you can’t order it due to some address data corruption ?

Put your address in here , does it show WBC FTTP as available ? , is your address shown exactly as you know it ( not similar or pretty close )  , if your  address is not shown at all , or there is a similar version but not exactly the same , check very near neighbours, what does their addresses show .

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressHome

You will need to call BT if an ORDI is needed , all that does really is align the Openreach records with the Royal Mail records , have you ever checked your entry on the Royal Mail website ?

Sorry I don’t follow , what is your address obviously do not provide the full address just the house number and street name , and if no exact match , what are the similar ones, is there anything out of the ordinary about your address compared to neighbours that can order FTTP ?

Sorry! So 140 balmoral avenue, they cannot find, but when I type this is it also suggests 1 balmoral which shows fibre (i think they haven't updated my address from 1 balmoral avenue to 140)

138 balmoral avenue and 142 balmoral avenue both come up showing full fibre immediately

So your address is No. 140 ,Balmoral but there is no entry on the BTw checker ? ,

TBH  when  asking if there were similar entries , I was imagining something like No.140a , or a house name , for example, ‘Dun roaming’ , 140 Balmoral , not No.1 or No.14, presumably there is a genuine No.1 and No.14 Balmoral Avenue, the problem is if there is no entry for 140 between 139 and 141 Balmoral, or if odds and evens have different post codes , between 138 and 142 Balmoral, does Balmoral Ave have multiple postcodes ?

If you check the RM postcode checker , is No.140 on that site ?, if it’s missing on there , you probably need it added before the OR site (which effectively uses a RM address file ) can be updated , so you would need to advise RM of your missing address , it would be odd though, as how do you get letters , parcels etc. if no entry on that site .

If the RM does show it , then ORDI is needed , just out of curiosity what does your current BT bill show as the address , or the email confirmation of the contract ( if you still have it )

Yeah it is an odd one, royal mail checker, does show my address 140 balmoral avenue when I put in my postcode

On my bt app it shows my address as 140 balmoral avenue,  but the billing shows my previous address still

Unfortunately, you need to call BT , something clearly went wrong when they set up your house move
