Power of Attorney

Go to solution

Good day.

An elderly aunt has asked me to become her next of kin and her lasting power of attorney.

I have agreed and I am in the process of registering the documents with the department of guardianship.

In the meantime I would like to ask if her bills for the past 12 months could be sent to her at her home address.

She is currently being assessed by the local council for help as she is housebound but they want 12 months of bills for the review.

We are not looking to make any changes to her account and/or services we just need the information.

Re: Power of Attorney

You need to phone CS 03301234150 and they should be able to help  as you don't yet have LPA on will need your aunt to be available when you phone as she will need to confirm that it is ok for BT to deal with you before you will get any information.  If your aunt can access her account using  MYBT app you should see last 12 months bills and be able to print them

Thank you for your reply.  I am not sure if I necessarily need to speak to BT about this just request the information sent to my aunt which I can send straight to the council.

Hi @gmeikle94

Thanks for coming here.

I can see you have been provided some great advice from @imjolly and @licquorice

As nothing is yet in place, I can confirm the information provided is correct. The account holder would need to present to request this information.

Katie
