when you renewed your contract dsid you also upgrade to 500/900 package?
has the 14 cooling off expired since new contract activation date?
are you using pc/laptop to access MYBT not app?

I too had a similar problem activating the Xbox ultimate game pass offer.
I received an online banner message in red on the screen ' We're sorry the system is down for maintenance, you can submit your activation request by calling us on 0330 1234 150 choose option 1 and then option 2.
I got through to a very helpful agent who took down my details and completed an online form for the attention of the BT /Xbox team. Within 4 working days I received an email from email.offline.bt.com with the activation code and it worked first time.
Please note you have 30 days in order to activate the code and you need to be signed on to the correct Windows account when redeeming the code.
