Registering for BT ID

Hi, I could do with some help getting registered for the BT ID to see my service and bills.

I had an account with BT a while ago and I could see that normally but I really feel like there is something wrong with my new account preventing me registering online.

I register for a new BT ID and put my account number in, it recognises its already registered to another BT ID and asks if it is my account and if I want to take ownership of it, I select yes, answer a security question, get a code via email or SMS depending on option chosen then proceed to setting up my new BT ID to use on that account, all seems fine throughout.

Then it gets to the stage where its all done and password is set, now it sends me an email to activate the BT ID, when I click that I get the message saying I must wait at least 10 minutes before using the link so I wait.

After 10 minutes has passed I can click the link and key my password but then it goes back to the login screen, fine...

After trying to login here I get this message...

I cant figure this out, everything seems to go normally until this and I have tried it with a few different email addresses now, all get back to this issue and I work in IT so I generally know what im doing, tried different devices, connections, machines, clearing cache and even lighting the beacon but nothing is working.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

Have you tried logging onto MyBT with both of your BTIDs to see if either one works?

Hi, yes I have tried all my emails addresses now and they all face the same issue, when I try a password reset on any of them they all say there is no ID registered on the email address.

When I try to register a new one it shows the account is already registered against one of my emails addresses but the address shown is appended by some string that says inactive or deactivated with a timestamp as if it's been deleted/disabled.

You are in a Catch 22. The email address can be re-activated but you need to get into your MyBT to do that.

You will need to call BT Billing 0330.1234.150 and explain your problem to them and they should be able to help.

You can use a non BT email address as your BTID so you could try that.
