Returning BT equipment after switching

Go to solution

I was emailed by BT when I'd made them aware I was switching to another broadband company, regarding the equipment that I needed to return. I was sent 2 bags and the postage labels that would be tracked & signed for. The equipment along with extra cables were taken to my post office on the 11th June 2025. I was told to keep the postage receipt incase of any problems. ( Hence why I'm on here asking / hoping for advice & support )

The equipment was delivered on the 15th June 2025. Since the equipment was delivered, I've been hounded with emails, letters & texts stating they're still waiting on the equipment and that I'll be fined nearly £200 for both items, if not returned by early August. I've checked my account since and it hasn't updated, it still states 'awaiting return'. I've tried to contact customer services but no help was given, I've tried using the automated chat but you can only get so far with a robot.

I don't fancy paying a big fine especially when I know the two bags have been delivered a month ago. Can moderators or anyone from BT, please help me with this ongoing issue !!

This is a customer to customer self help forum and the BT mods no longer gave account access. You need to speak to customer services.

Please edit out the tracking numbers from your post as it is personal information.
