Shop or telesales

My broadband contract has expired and am looking to re-contract if the price is right. I called into a BT/EE shop and enquired if they could re-contract me and they said they had all my details and could. Has anyone used the shop option opposed to phoning retentions team who seem to be commission obsessed and could a less stressful and better price be had?

Re: Shop or telesales

My shop experience was helping a friend and they seemed more to want to switch my friend from BT to EE presumably commission orientated.  I have personally used Retentions and managed to negotiate a good deal for my contract making sure I knew what BT currently offer for my package and also what I can get with other ISP.  If you don't like the offer then walk away and either try in few days or select a new ISP

Both should br able to offer you the same deals but I personally prefer phone, plus calls are recorded for peace of mind

Re: Shop or telesales

Shortly after the "we're not moving everyone to EE" announcement, where my renewal discounts disappeared, I visited an EE shop.  They managed to pull up my details, but could only see the prices that were currently available to me, exactly the same as going through the website.  While we didn't get anywhere, at least it reassured me that I wasn't going mad.  I'd gone in fully prepared, so no need to BS, poor guy almost fell off his seat when he saw how little I pay for my 100% legit streaming - which has recently increased as one platform finally ended "founding member" rate.

It took me starting the switch process before I received a (more than) sensible offer from BT.

I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!
