Sky contact due to expire and wanting to move to BT

Hi all.

My contract with Sky for broadband expires on the 28th March. I understand I don't need to contact them directly but simply place an order with BT. The question is whether I can do this now and somewhere through the BT ordering process it will ask me and I can specify 29th as the switchover date? I'm trying to avoid the first month's price hike from sky in the first month I am out of contact with them. Or do I have to suck this up and can only place my order with BT once I'm out of contact with Sky? Hoping for a seamless process. 🙂

Cheers for any help.

Mike

You should be able to specify the switch over date but I doubt that it will be guaranteed as things can go wrong or the date is not able to be accommodated for some reason.

I would put in for a move once you have at last 14 days left on your Sky contract.

Member BT may end up not much cheaper then Sky.

BT are also slowly trying to get their customers moved over to EE.
