Can anybody tell me without going into techspeak, where is the ORDINARY email address to get hold of bt I can use on my ordinary email address to get hold of them direct by sending them an email msg direct to them?
I am fed up of being held on a phone for 20 mins trying to get through on their phones to try and part cancel my package with BT. I want to cancel all our of tv entertainment package plus the home phone package as we have stopped using both. The ONLY thing I want kept on is the internet. WiFi signal - which I believe most companies do this now if you want it doing. Haven’t used the home phone in over 2 years, and have no intention to use it again. We have also gone over to a different system for the entertainment package, which we have done ourselves,so why should I be charged for something I am not using? I have looked on the bt bill, and indeed, tried to write an email msg to bt,but got no reply and one other email msg to them from me bounced back. Do I have to do it the old fashioned way and write to BT in Sheffield myself to cancel our package? It seems the only way I can get hold of bt. is it? To make things worse,I am acting on behalf of my husband(he has the account with bt),as he no longer has an internet access for his account as he hasn’t got a computor screen any longer - only through my email address can we get in touch with bt now,so hence why I am acting for him as I am his wife. It just seems in this day and age BT are making it very difficult to get out of a contract with them - or reducing it. In these days if costs going up,you need to be able to reduce your costs as much as possible. £86.00 odd per month is getting too expensive which we can do without. Thanks folks who reply. Ivy
Solved! Go to Solution.
Unfortunately, cancellations can only be made by phone.
your husband as account holder will need to be available when you phone just to confirm it is OK for you to deal with his account. If you are currently in a fixed term contract then changing contract may result in early termination charges. you currently have broadband and phone contract and now wish to end that and go Broadband only - probably save £3/5 per month + any call package cost
as @licquorice posted you need to phone so try retentions 08007831401 or the normal CS 03301234150
That is pathetic. So I have to wait on a phone 20 mins and be paid to cancel part of my package with BT. I am glad I am cancelling my package with them. They have been a terrible service from the start. They don’t record all of a programme when you have put it in to record on your bt box and a programme starts late, and the television receptions on some tv programmes have been terrible. And yes,had the engineer out and twice put in a new aerial as he kept saying it was our aerial’s fault - which it isn’t. Still made no difference. It is why I am moving away from all the main companies who provide Broadband and entertainment packages,as they have been useless with their customer care all of them. Thanks for your reply.
If you are no longer in a fixed term contract and do not intend to keep you home phone then maybe be better with a clean break and select a new ISP like Plusnet or SKY and all you need to do is place order for broadband only and the new ISP will contact BT to cancel your service with BT
Rung the number Licorice and got through within 5 mins! Person very patient and helpful. Reduced our bill by about £20-25 pound,so I am glad I made the effort to ring your number you gave me instead. Thank you fir your help. Onward and upward. Will see how the wifi works out on it’s own. The person said it will be about £65.00 fir the new bill. I like to have the paper bill so I know what my hubby and I are paying for and for historically,I am aware how much the bill is going up each year. It costs us £3.00 each bill….. Thank you, we’re a big help,as have other people who replied to my enquiry. I hope I did your kudos thing ok on this part of BT! Thanks again,Ivy
It was actually @imjolly that supplied the number rather than me, but glad you are sorted
I am with BT and have just changed to broadband only. Having found a cheaper price elsewhere, BT matched it and I am now paying £22.99 per month
