When trying to access My BT to view my bill I keep getting the message: "Sorry, we can’t get your account details at the moment"

Re: Unable to access My BT

It's interesting that so many people need to view their bill so frequently. I never look at mine, but then it's a fixed monthly price that stays the same throughout the year.

Maybe you should have a look because most people will see increases at this time of year. Moreover, there will be sundry changes at any time for many others. It might be hard to take, but not all are the same as you.

Re: Unable to access My BT

@pottyperson  I don't need to look at my bill, there's a £4 a year increase year on year and I switch every two years anyway. Plus, I don't have a landline, so there's no need for me to keep checking it. Trust me, it isn't hard to take to accept that others may be in a different position, despite what you might think.

Re: Unable to access My BT

@Kimberlin

As you are not a BT customer you may not be aware that when BT bill customers it is in advance. When there is a price rise the first bill after the price rise is invariably higher than the previous months and the forthcoming months due to the way BT work out and bill that months payment.

This will obviously show on the customers bank statement as being higher than was expected and it is only when they check the bill via their MyBT that it becomes obvious what has happened and that it will be "ironed" out in the next bill.

If the customer sees the higher bill in their bank statement but have no way of checking their MyBT billing statement  because they are unable to access it due to a BT fault this can cause the customer to worry that they are being over charged.

The fact that you never check your bill is of no relevance except to you and does not assist the BT customers who can not access their MYBT billing page.

@gg30340  I’ve noticed that as highly annoying and often unwanted my posts are, they usually extract an excellent explanation from contributors such as yourself. That’s not even me being sarcastic 👍

Re: Unable to access My BT

Perhaps you should post more replies that are helpful, which I have noted you do on occasions, to the person that is seeking help instead of posting things that appear to make you sound "smug" or "patronising" and is not helpful to the persons predicament.

But I am smug and patronising and literally totally lacking in empathy, but I live with it.

I also notice that I am not the only contributor like that on this forum, they're not hard to find.
