Re: Unfair Charges for 83 year old customer of 46 Years.

You haven't said whether your mother has telephone service as well as broadband.
If she does and you move to a new provider, do check that the new provider can provide a telephone service - not all do so.
In addition be aware that, if your mother has BT email and you leave BT, the email service will be downgraded to basic - only accessible via BT's website login unless you pay a monthly fee to keep the full service.
And, as others have said, and your Mother is on a 2 yr contract with BT, check out the termination fee that BT will charge you if you move to a new provider.

Re: Unfair Charges for 83 year old customer of 46 Years.

Hi.

I'm an ex loyal BT customer checking this forum to see if BT are still carrying out their disrespectful discriminatory practices. It looks like nothing has changed.

I wasted months trying to get a deal from BT near to a new customer lefel but found myself paying more than twice as much for the same service.

I have changed provider and my service is half the price and much better. There are other providers out there who are able to offer a phone service as part of a package.

I understand its very difficult for elderley customers to make changes but It's really easy to switch with someone elses help. Better to wait until you are out of contract before switching.

In my opinion a customer who has been with BT for 46 years (since before privatisation?) should be offered their services for free.

@Nigly  Interesting? You want BT to give its services for free just because you paid for their services for 46 years?

Loyalty counts for nothing and BT last time I checked, were a global reach company with thousands of employees constantly investing and competing with other companies and at the same time having to pay their shareholders dividends.

You probably want to sit down and have a think about how they’re supposed to make money as well as amongst other things, having to provide social tariffs which everyone else has to pay for. But none of this should matter to you as you’re no longer a customer, so what’s the issue?
