Hi
I’m an existing BT customer and it’s time to renew my contract. I opted for the full fibre package and normally this is as simple as the new service starting automatically however I’m now being asked to pick an installation slot for the engineer to come?
Is this necessary?

Re: Upgrading to full fibre
If you don't already have full fibre then an installation visit is needed to install new equipment and to install the fibre optic drop wire into your property
Installation Process is documented here: https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/full-fibre-broadband-installation-checklist

Re: Upgrading to full fibre
Ah I see! So even though I’m currently Fibre Halo 3, full fibre requires further installation?

Halo 3 is just an add on. Looking at your previous posts you're currently on fibre to the cabinet technology where fibre goes to a roadside cabinet from exchange and then uses existing copper cable from cabinet to your property.
Whereas full fibre is fibre optic cable all the way from exchange to your property allowing much faster speeds.
