Why is 1 6 gig speed only available on EE?

Go to solution

I'm due to renew my contract soon. I'm with BT.

I'm currently at the 500 Mbps and the highest speed offered at the renewal is the 900 Mbps.

But when I'm typing the post code in on thinkbroadband website the highest available speed is 1600 Mbps via EE.

If BT and EE are the same company why doesn't either EE offers appear at the renewal page or why doesn't the 1.6 gig package appear as a BT offer?

BT and EE are separate companies with the BT Group just as Plusnet is also a member of BT Group

at present from other forum posts the 1.6gb is only available to new EE customer and not switches from BT. I am sure this will change when BT/EE get a system in place .  you could move to EE and in fact might be encouraged to move to EE when you renew at upgrade to 900mb
