Solved! Go to Solution.
You can not just take over an account.
You could become a "manager" of your parents account and if needed set up the account that you pay the bill but as stated you will only be the account manager and not the account holder.
For you to "take over" the account your parents would need to cancel their package, which if they are still in a Fixed Term Contract would incur cancellation fees.
You could then take out your own contract for broadband with a landline phone. It will not automatically carry over the phone number and neither will it automatically port the mobile phone to the new contract.
You would be better to call BT Billing 0330.1234.150 and ask their advice as to the best way to achieve what you want.
oh thats kinda a shame i hoped it was going to not need me to phone is tricky as i work the time that line is manned
so cant really call
no way i can do that in text form ? ..
seems so easy to me to just change the first name on the contract .. and what bank the money comes from
literally every other thing would be the same still
ah well
You can not change the name on the contract.
