my phone line is digital how does that now cost £5 a  month ??

Because that’s what it costs , if you don’t want a phone service , you can save £5 ….years ago the main complaint was people complaining that they had to pay for a phone service even if they didn’t want one , so now you only pay if you want a phone service , that way the broadband only people don’t have to pay £5 for a service they don’t want …you can’t have it both ways , a phone service isn’t free , you pay for it if you want it or save £5 if you don’t.

 Just because it’s an internet protocol telephone service doesn’t make it free to provide , if you think you can get telephone free , port your number to this mythical provider and save £5

Use the website to query both the BT renewals and EE renewals regularly - doing this appears to push the systems into offering you a better "personalised" deal.  It's working for me - so far - and if it reverts I can always go elsewhere.  I'm at around a 30% saving on what I was originally being offered to upgrade at, which is a little cheaper than when I originally subscribed a couple of years back!


I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!
