support for customer with additional needs

Good morning,

Please does anyone have a separate number to reach BT for additional needs customers?  I chatted with BT online on the weekend in relation to asking for a WiFi disc to be supplied to help my disabled daughter with neurological and mobility issues to access internet as we have dead spots at home and not always easy to keep moving her as she is currently home schooled.

Hope someone can help with this as there is no option on the BT phone number to reach this team or an option to talk about this. Currently trying to call but no luck yet. Would really help if someone could contact me.

Kindest regards,

Russ

@supraruss

you may need to upgrade your BT package to include complete wifi.

alternatively you could just purchase powerline adapters with wifi capabilities

Re: support for customer with additional needs

Thanks for the quick replies and link.

I did manage to get through to BT on the phone just now. They were helpful but unfortunately the options were not viable for us as full time carers and not working.

Online BT advise making a suggestion of helpful tech for customers with additional needs so my suggestion therefore is offering those who may need it, a free WiFi disc. Qualifying criteria of course required. In our case neurological condition and mobility issues for a home schooled child so budget is tight hence we are on the essential package. The option to pay £25 more a month unfortunately is not possible for us being full time carer.

Hopefully a member of the team who run the support for customers with additional needs could review this as might help a few customers who need this extra support.

Kind regards,
Russ

Have a look at MyBT  as sometimes Complete WiFi is offered cheaply.

Thanks, that would be good if it becomes available in the future. I will keep a watch out on that.

Appreciated!

Re: support for customer with additional needs

The other option is as @imjolly suggested, powerline adapters with WiFi. These carry an ethernet connection on your mains wiring & the WiFi versions do as their name suggests. They start from a little over £50 for something like the TP-Link TK-WPA7517 & you own them outright rather than continually paying "rent". Might be some Black Friday deals coming up.
