Access Control

Go to solution

I had a laptop that i restricted the access to the internet on.  Now i wish to remove that.

I tried to go to http://192.168.1.254/bt_access_control.htm to do that, but it tells me i now i have use the app to do this.

I am really really resisting the urge to go on an expletive heavy rant about this btw.

So i download the MyBT app and try to login.  I can't log in - sometimes a vauge 'there has been a problem'  sometimes 3 bouncing dots appear on the screen until infinity.

Anyone any ideas - is there a known problem with logins through the app?

Any other way to change access controls?

Hi @toastToastToast

Welcome to the community.

If you are seeing this happen when trying to access to the app, can you try to delete the app and then install it again.

It is also worth trying to login through the BT website to make sure that you are able to access your My BT account in general.

If you are still seeing the same after installing the app again, get in touch with our tech guides, who can have a look into this further for you.

Re: Access Control

Hi Michael, thank you for your reply.

This was resolved after a torrid 3 hours chat with support, who deleted my bt_id and re-instated it.

It was a pretty bleak experience to have to go through in order to remove MAC filters on my router, i have to say

Thanks for keeping me updated @toastToastToast

I can understand your frustration at the amount of time it took, but I'm glad to hear it is sorted for you now.
