BT App Login Problems

I have been a BT customer for several years and I have also used the BT app during this time. But for the past few months everytime I try to login, it keeps asking to activate my BT ID. This was done several years ago and I no longer have the email. I am able to login fine on the internet with my BT ID so i have no idea what I am doing wrong or how to login to the app. I have deleted, reinstalled and updated the app with no joy. Please help.

Hi @BakAli,

Welcome to the BT Community

Have you tried resetting your password to see if this then stops the activation request when logging into the app? You mentioned you don't have access to the e-mail any longer, when resetting the password there is an option for "can't access e-mail". You can then reset it by answering a security question that has been set rather than a link to the e-mail inbox.

Changed the password but same thing happened on the app. I log in ok, set up a PIN, but then asks me to activate my ID.

Don't use BT email so that has never been a problem.

Any further suggestions very much appreciated.

@BakAli Thanks for giving that a try and reporting back. As you no longer have access to the e-mail address you are using, have you thought about changing it to one you do have access to? Then you should be able to activate/verify it as needed.

Im not sure I understand you. I am having problems with the MyBT App, and the log in has always been the same as the online login with the same email address / BT ID I successfully activated years ago. I have access to this email but I can’t find the activation email as I probably deleted it years ago.
I don't understand why I am suddenly not able to log into the MyBT App, after years of using it with the same BT ID / email address. Plus, why is the app asking me to activate my BT ID when I did this already years ago, and am still able to log into MyBT online ok with that same BT ID.
It is very confusing but also frustrating as I need to set up a new BT disc to extend the WiFi at home, and this can only be done in the MyBT App.
Please help!
