BT Wifi Hotspots - Can't log in

Our village has a BT wifi hotspot.  I am offered to connect to it in the wifi settings on my iphone, but when I enter my BT user name and password it does not accept them.  What's going wrong?

Are you using the BTWifi app. If not try downloading it and set it up with you details.

Thanks for your reply - no, I was just using the Wifi setting on the iphone.  I shall download the BT app and give it another go!
