Good day. I've unistalled McAfee on my Mac by using the McAfee uninstaller program. However, Norton is still seeing something as it fails to load, saying, "We have detected incompatible security software installed on your computer. Please uninstall McAfee and try again". I can't uninstall McAfee again, and can't find any old virus software legacy to delete. Any ideas, please?

I have the same issue. I've tried every tip and trick I can find online in last 2 hours to remove BT Protect McAfee from MAC -(MACoS high sierra)- which was installed but has not been working for many months. The uninstaller didn't work either, so I uninstalled manually. Still Norton refuses to install as still detecting McAfee.
The changeover worked easily on my Windows laptop.
Not a great look for BT - offering an improved security software package, Norton, that can't be installed because of (longstanding) flaws (on a Mac) with current BT Protect McAfee package that cannot be removed.
Come on BT, help us out please.
SOLVED!!!
I went onto Norton's website and found a link to REMOVE COMPETITIVE PRODUCTS along with instructions. Simple and straight-forward and it worked, I'm pleased to say - there was a rogue McAfee file in there, which was found instantly and sent marching.

Hope it works for everyone who needs it.
