Going back to paper bills

I've been with BT for decades on the same land line number and address. Every time I try to log in to 'My BT' it comes up with different invalid entry problems despite having the same saved login details - which it only occasionally accepts. I have today tried to login and it insisted on 2 factor verification. I entered the required details including emailed codes and now I'm locked out regardless of whether I use the new or previous login details. Waiting 20 minutes has no effect. I use a Macbook Air which has auto-updated software and have had the same email address for decades where I receive my BT billing notifications. I do not own a smartphone. If I phone the contact number, BT tells me what the bill is immediately. It is paid by dd.  Why can't the on-line My BT account manage to do something similar?  I do not have login problems with other secure sites.  If this situation continues I will be going back to paper bills which are reliable and hassle free.  The alternative is to allow at least an hour to have a 10% chance of viewing my bill. This type of moan is very common according to various searches. The inconsistent login behaviour is frustrating.  Anyone else?

Re: Going back to paper bills

I guess you haven't read any of the multiple threads regarding the ongoing problems with MyBT.

Re: Going back to paper bills

Have done so before making my post. Problems are very common and solutions do not work. Other secure websites are not as flaky on login.

There is no solution currently, BT are working on a fix.

Re: Going back to paper bills

I realise I'm flogging a dead horse here even typing this, but there is literally no point whatsoever in anyone creating any more threads on the subject and moaning about it. BT will fix the issue at their leisure and seemingly no amount of moaning by customers is going to drive them forward any quicker given the weeks that have already gone by.

Thanks. I've had logging in problems on My BT for a couple of years. I did not realise that BT's account software had now actually broken for the majority of users. My moaning will cease. I'll reserve judgement on the fix if and when it occurs.

Re: Going back to paper bills

@raymk  Thing is, it actually hasn't broke for the majority of users, just some, although just some, could mean thousands or hundreds of thousands of customers.

I'm not even a BT customer anymore, but I can still access the MyBT App without any issues whatsoever and look at my old account and old bills all on my iPhone. At least I know that should I return to BT for that sparkling new customer deal in a few months time, my account will hopefully still work 😆

Re: Going back to paper bills

True. Good luck with your new deal. BT services are fine. No complaints from me. It's just the website. I do not own a smartphone although I may try one now that a couple have reappeared with a physical keyboard. My hands have a slight tremor, not ideal for phone sized touch screens.
