How do I permantly turn off notifications that emails have been quarantined in Norton Anti-Virus

I have switched of the two notifications/alerts  I can find under "Settings-Notifications" .

The only other tab on this page is to "never silence the notifications/alerts" or "silence them for a maximum of 24 hours".

I want to permanently switch them off. Can I do this?

Thanks.

Hi @Graeme7,

Welcome to the BT Community

If Norton does not have the ability to permanently disable the notification you can try disabling notifications for Norton on the device level, i.e. in the phone notification settings or PC notification settings or browser notification settings depending on what device you are using and where the notification is originating from.

Is the notification about new quarantined e-mails or just ones that are currently quarantined? As if its one that are in quarantine going to your quarantine and deleting or restoring them if they are legit would stop notifications about those specific ones.

Re: How do I permantly turn off notifications that emails have been quarantined in Norton Anti-Virus

Hi Alex
The notifications are about new incoming mail to my outlook account. They appear bottom left on my screen. the choices on the pop up are 1) Scan PC (which literally scans the pc for viruses) or 2) Close the message
There is nothing in the PC notifications settings on the PC that specifically mentions Nortons so not sure I can turn them off from the device level.

@Graeme7

Alternatively, you could disable and delete Norton from your PC altogether and use (if Windows) Microsoft Defender which is specifically designed for Windows. I had Norton pre-installed on my laptop when I bought it and I completely removed the product within 24 hours as it was causing me too many issues. I’ve never had a problem since.
